Now, how is this relevant to SEO? Best answered with a quote, I feel:
David Thorne’s encounter with Simon Edhouse made me want to know more about the man, so I looked him up in Google. The first thing I noticed was that – within hours of his post – David had already placed third in Google for Simon’s name. Without trying[.]
- taken from this post on Bloggerheads.
At 21:00 I created this entry and some 16 minutes later (3 minutes before Virgin Media took my call!) it was showing in Google UK searches for David Thorne. A bit of a bugger as, at that time, my sitemap thought the post didn’t have any content which is why you won’t find it on the first page of Google.com searches – yet.
Edit – update 1:
The man of the moment has stated the whole series of e-mails is fake. According to Simon Edhouse’s Twitter page, he is due to post a public reply on his blog in the near future. It seems like a strange thing to lie about, but I’m keeping an open mind.
Edit – update 2:
12 hours later and nothing new from Simon Edhouse. This post, however, has emerged on the 1st page of results for Google Searches on Simon Edhouse
It’s just hopped from 10th to 7th, although I think it’ll start to drop in 48 hours time as the amount of Simon Edhouse content is going through the roof.
