Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 pre-orders are already tracking significantly ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops…
- Tom Devine, Managing Director of GAME Group UK
The current record for pre-order sales is held by Call of Duty: Black Ops, developed by Treyarch and published by Activision.
According to Tom Devine, MD of GAME UK, Activision’s latest Call of Duty title is going to break their previous record, despite widespread criticism that Modern Warfare 3 is simply a “copy and paste” of Modern Warfare 2.
Fans of the series won’t be surprised by this point, as many feel Modern Warfare 2 had the potential to be the best first person shooter ever made if the developers, Infinity Ward, had done some something about ‘one man army noob tubes’ and the commando perk.
I’m with the majority on this point: a tweaked MW2 is better than Black Ops any day of the week.
