In October last year I mentioned a course run by Paul Hegarty of Stanford University. The entire series is free on iTunes and if you have an interest in developing apps for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch you should check it out.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t made much (any) progress in respect of my first app. In terms of a self build, Paul Hegarty’s lectures quickly reached a level which was far too technical for me to understand so I made the decision to outsource the job. Unfortunately, progress on the Smarter Card iOS app was halted as the potential developer couldn’t integrate it with a WordPress set-up.

Almost 9 months later it looks like a self build could be on the cards again, using Buzztouch.

Build an iOS (or Android) app with Buzztouch

Buzztouch is web-based software enabling users to create iOS or Android applications online. The service is free to use for individuals as the company makes its money from providing business grade services to organisations.

The following video is taken from the Buzztouch YouTube channel and gives you an idea of how easy it is use:

  1. Hey Adam,
I am one of the CO-Founders of buzztouch and just wanted to say thanks for the mention on Twitter and for this great post. My partner David Book may have already thanked you, but thanks are in order just the same. If we can be of help to you regarding using our tools, just give us a shout.

    Thanks again,

    Stephen

    1. Stephen/David,

You’re both very welcome. I’ve had a play with your site now and I have to say it’s fantastic.

My previous post (October last year) has been one of the best performing entries in terms of traffic so hopefully this latest update will send you some decent custom.

      Good luck for the future!

      Adam
