Can’t download your free PSN games?

To mark the return of the PSN, Sony have announced a “Welcome Back” package which includes two free games from the following: Little Big Planet 2, inFamous, Wipeout HD Fury, Ratchet & Clank and Dead Nation. Anyone who registered a PSN account before April 20th is eligible for the offer.

However, some users have reported that they can’t access the Welcome Back package via the Playstation Store. If you’re amongst them all you need to do is locate your Playstation Network tab on the PS3 home screen and then select Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List > PSN Welcome Back Package. Download your two free games and enjoy :)

Update: 8th June, 2011:

I noticed the following video pop up in my YouTube subscription box and since it provides a visual demonstration of the above steps I thought I would add it to this post! Credit goes to AskACapper – a ‘can’t stand up’ comic and Call of Duty commentator.

    why :O

Services list is blank, when I try to directly download either inFamous or Little Big Planet it gives me a 403 error. I would like to redownload them because my old Ps3 got the yellow light and I did enjoy playing LBP until my console broke :/

Excuse me, I restarted twice and I didn’t get the 403 error this time. I’m downloading both games right now, nevermind ^^

I think you’ve been lucky – as far as I’m aware the cut-off for downloading the ‘Welcome Back’ package was last Friday :)
