Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - now available on pre-order
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 – now available on pre-order

There is talk that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is completely sold out. I have absolutely no idea how this rumour started as I have managed to locate copies on several different websites:

Edit: the following list is accurate as of 15:00 GMT, 3rd November 2011. Please leave a comment if you have more up to date information.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Pre-Order Availability (UK)

Amazon.co.uk are still taking pre-orders for the standard edition of Modern Warfare 3 on PS3, XBOX, Nintendo Wii, PC.

Game.co.uk have all variants of MW3 available for pre-order. Alongside Hardened Editions for PS3 & XBOX (£79.99), you can also get the standard edition on PS3, XBOX, PC, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DSi & Nintendo DS Lite.

Orders from Game.co.uk are eligible for 4% cash back via QuidCo.

Tesco.com are selling the standard edition of COD: MW3 for PS3, XBOX, PC and Nintendo Wii.

Orders from Tesco.com are eligible for 10% cash back via QuidCo.

If you are looking for the ‘experience’ of a midnight launch, then I suggest you head over to Game.co.uk and reserve a copy for in-store collection. However, I can tell you this is not the fastest way to get your hands on Modern Warfare 3.

Last year, I pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops from the Wolverhampton branch of GAME, on the assumption I could nip in at midnight, grab my copy and be home for 12:15 am. Oh, how I was mistaken! I spent the best part of 2.5 hours stood in the pouring rain with several hundred hardcore FPS fans.

This time around, I pre-ordered my copy from Amazon. Assuming the postal service don’t go on strike, this should provide the most cost effective and hassle free means of obtaining COD: MW3.

    1. I’ll be honest James, I don’t have much experience to go on 🙂

Aside from Black Ops & Modern Warfare 3 I’ve never pre-ordered anything gaming related. Obviously, my Black Ops experience wasn’t great and I can’t yet tell how things will go with Amazon.

All I know is that while I was stood in the pouring rain waiting to collect Black Ops, those who ordered via Amazon were half way through their first prestige 😀

Have you gone for the Hardened Edition?

        1. How are you finding BF3? I played the Beta but it was a little too slow paced for my liking, although I think that was partly due to being 30 fps vs COD’s 60 fps.

I’m more into the ‘wreaking havoc with a spas 12 in the enemy spawn’ aspect of the game vs the realism, epic maps and multiple vehicle choices. BF3 has all of the later but doesn’t really cater to my needs 🙂
