For those who don’t know, Activision publishes Call of Duty games from two separate developers: Infinity Ward and Treyarch. Infinity Ward were responsible for the last Call of Duty game, namely Modern Warfare 2, whilst Treyarch can put their name to the hugely anticipated Black Ops.
It has now been confirmed that Call of Duty Black Ops will see a Beta release on the same day the new Halo game becomes available. Google tells me this is the 14th September! As with any hyped Call of Duty release there are 1000s of websites claiming to have exclusive access to beta codes, although at this point in time none of the Black Ops keys are genuine.
In fact, a quick Google search for Call of Duty Black Ops Beta Codes brings up a number of hoax websites. Some ask you to download a file – probably malicious – while others have misleading links, which will be earning the host income either through pay per click or views alone. Going off topic slightly, as an SEO exercise this is actually quite clever; if not frustrating for the end user who is trying to find Black Ops Beta Codes but keeps stumbling upon well optimised hoax websites.
I have left it very late in the day to SEO optimise Call of Duty Black Ops Beta / Call of Duty Black Ops Beta Codes as Google search terms but I’ll give it a go anyway.
