At the moment I am developing my first WordPress child theme and hope to have this online before the end of the month. In the meantime you might find the site looking a little bit broken as I am making changes on the fly as opposed to doing it properly in some kind of test area. It’s fairly easy to undo changes so I’m happy to continue like this for the time being.
In terms of content, my blog has developed quite a bit over the past five years. Originally, it was supposed to serve as a record of events for anything I did involving the Smarter Group and nothing else – however I now find myself writing about personal interests, such as technology and gaming, alongside my experiences in the business world.
With that in mind, here’s what I have planned for the next month or so:
The guys at Proof Cases have been kind enough to send me some samples for review. If you take a look at their website you’ll see why I am excited to get my hands on these. As iPhone 4 cases go, Proof’s designs are stunning.
I’ll probably deal with this by way of a YouTube video. At the moment there isn’t a great deal of content on my channel and it’s about time I started making better use of it.
In addition to the case reviews, I will be writing up separate posts on iPhone applications for Google+ and Google Analytics. At the moment I’m trying out a handful of apps for each and will be giving my thoughts on these.
Infinity Ward have released more footage of Modern Warfare 3 and I’ll be talking about some of the follow up videos that have been posted to YouTube. I might even branch out and mention Battlefield 3 which is getting plenty of hype at the moment.
It’s no secret that Smarter Housing closed last July and I’ll be giving my thoughts on recent contact from local press and their inability to report things accurately. No doubt I’ll touch upon the way in which most people in this country seem to like making a big deal out of business failure and how this compares to the approach in Silicon Valley.
While I’m at it, I’ll do a few more ‘lessons in business’ so people can avoid making some of the mistakes I did.
I’m really chuffed with developments at Smarter SEO and I’ve been so busy dealing with clients that I haven’t had an opportunity to finish the website. As stated on the holding page the full site will be up and running by 1st September.
On a very related note, I’ll be giving a few more updates on my quest to see Smarter SEO at the top of Google searches for West Midlands SEO.
I’m in the latter stages of developing a step-by-step guide for anyone looking to get into affiliate marketing. The guide includes everything from registering your domain name and installing WordPress to techniques for promoting goods and services.
The entire guide will be available free of charge and, as you would expect, will be monetised through affiliate relationships with relevant providers.
