Adam Arnold and the Google SERPS

Back in March of this year I started the post Get Adam Arnold to # 1 on Google with the intention of documenting my attempts to search engine optimise my own name.

By the end of April any searches for “Adam Arnold” in MSN, Yahoo or Windows Live would have brought up on the first page of results, alas there was little progress on Google – with this site still lingering down on pages 5 and 6.

On 4th May I noted some progress with Google:

Success! It’s not quite the post/page I was after, but as of today if you pop “Adam Arnold” into a Google search you’ll see one of my most recent Twitter updates in 10th spot. I’ve not done anything new in the way of seo for the past month, so it does go to show my existing techniques are working. In particular, the Twitter feed updates are performing well.

I didn’t point it out but I was aware this post would quickly vanish in what is known as a Google bump.

Its now the 1st July and I thought I’d see how this self-SEO is coming along. Happy days: searches for “Adam Arnold” now throw up in the first page of SERPs for all the search engines – including Google!

I’m not yet in #1 spot, but I am moving in the right direction 🙂
