Stuck in traffic I got on the phone repeatedly until someone answered. I confirmed the reason for my call and that I wanted them to honour the specified cheque although the lady in the callcentre was unable to authorise me to do so. Sigh.
Thankfully Andrew was able to get through and authorised the cheque. It concerns me a great deal, however, that despite being the main contact, the owner, the sole signatory on company cheques etc etc that it is our Technical Director who has clearance with the bank on these sorts of issues. How on earth they have locked those details into their apparently unchangable system I do not know.
RBS look pretty promising at the moment so watch this space – they may well be picking up our bank accounts in the same fashion O2 have picked up our telecoms business!
